What a great kid!

Tonight was my son's last Junior High choir concert.  All of the kids did an awesome job.  During the concert, the teacher recognized the eight student who were selected to be part of the all-state honor choir last winter.  Austin was one of them.  I was so proud watching him get his certificate of recognitions  Later, the teacher gave out "Spirit of Choir" awards to four ninth grade choir members - 2 boys and 2 girls.  The "Spirit of Choir" award is given to the kids who are always on time, support other choir members, and have showed improvement over the past two or three years.

Guess what?  Austin received one.  He was given a certificate and a music medallion thing.

I am a proud mama.  I couldn't have asked for a better kid.  Hopefully, high school doesn't damage him.

Listen. If JUNIOR HIGH didn't damage him, High School can't touch him! I wish I was able to get to know Austin better--I have a feeling we'd get along just great. What a great kid!

He is not only a GOOD kid, he's a GOOD Lookin' kid! Gets it from his Mama. You have so much to be proud of. You are a GREAT Mom who has devoted everything to raising a great son- that he's turning out so well is hardly a surprise.

Oh- and I also Mom fail on the getting up in the morning. I don't even have an alarm clock. Bethany, of course, wakes everyone up and nags us all until we get out the door to school on time. Mom fail for me again!

Congrats to Austin...and to you too! He truly sounds like a great kid so your obviously doing something right!

It's so nice to hear a mom praise her child. We seem to hear so many bad things these days! Yay for Austin!

No high school can ruin truly wonderful kids like Austin. He has a force field around him of love and support. He'll be fine. I'm proud of you both. It takes a good mom to have a great kid.

Thanks for your comments. Every mom needs a little validation sometimes.

Cindy - I feel much better knowing I am not the only mom who let's her kids wake her up instead of the alarm clock.

He is a cutie and looks like he is doing very well also. I don't think high school will get him. I think he'll become even better!:)

How awesome is that? I always wished my sons would have stuck with choir longer. Once they got past concert choir in middle school they refused..... makes me sad.
